Please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your journey in cybersecurity…

I have worked as a police officer for 30 years, of which 14 years as an expert in fraud and internet related crimes. I was involved in starting the National Fraud Center 2013-2014 and have been at the Swedish Cyber Crime Center (SC3) for the last 4 years as a business developer / Prevention Manager.

I participate as a speaker about 50 times/year both in Sweden and in Europe / USA.

I participate in the international police cooperation within Europol, Interpol, Ameripol etc. and educates both internally in the Police authority and externally. But most importantly, I am passionate about creating Private-Public-Partnership organizations and participating in a number of international (ECCFI, MRC, NCFTA,…..)

What have been the biggest challenges around COVID-19 for your organisation? And, how are you addressing them?

The ”fun” part is that we saw a decrease in internet related crimes during the pandemic…

What is your advice on balancing security and digitalisation?

As a representative of the police authority, I see no problem with having such a high level of security that it counteracts user-friendliness, which is why I may be the wrong person to ask…

What do the next 5 years hold for your industry?

As I am an optimist, I see a much greater cooperation between authorities and the private sector not only nationally but also internationally. I see how we in collaboration share more information without our own gain and through it can protect more companies from suffering financial losses in the event of an attack. As a shining example, one should look at NoMoreRansom.org, which through such joint work so far has saved companies from $1,000,000,000 in losses completely free of charge…

Without that development, I see big problems…
